The Bastille Linux Hardening System is a package that attempts to "harden" or "tighten" Linux operating systems. After installation of a chosen brand (or "distribution") of Linux, the package is run to lock-down all operating system components, utilities, and settings. It currently supports RedHat, Debian, Mandrake and HP-UX systems, with eventual support for SuSE and TurboLinux.
Since Bastille Linux does not extensively alter core operating system software, application software can usually be deployed quickly on Bastille Linux with just a modest investment of effort. But extensive and granular security controls are not enforced by this package.
SecurityAppraisers® can provide assistance and expertise with application deployment on Bastille Linux platforms.
